Biography |

Joe began his practice in public accounting in 1988, specializing in audits of not-for-profit corporations and affordable housing organizations. He has been engaged as a consultant to not-for-profits in a wide variety of areas, including organizational structure analysis, internal control evaluations and unrelated business income tax issues. Joe has lectured throughout the state on not-for-profit financial and accounting issues to a wide variety of audiences, including boards of directors, CPAs and financial managers and has guest lectured at the University of San Francisco and at Golden Gate University. He has served on the planning committee for the "Beyond the Bottom Line" annual conference co-sponsored by the California Society of CPAs (CalCPA) and CompassPoint since its origin. Joe is a past chairperson of the Nonprofit Committee of the San Francisco Chapter of the CalCPA, a past president of the San Francisco Chapter of CalCPA, a past member of the CalCPA Board of Directors, a member of the CalCPA Council, and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, He has also served the State Board of Accountancy on the Report Quality Monitoring Committee. Joe earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, Accounting emphasis, from San Francisco State University. |
